Vitrified Diamond #1000

This is a vitrified diamond stone. The abrasive concentration is very high, between 50-60%. As a result, this composition does not glaze, and releases abrasive more readily than other vitrified diamond stones currently on the market. To compensate, the diamond layer is 5mm thick.

It is recommended for users who are sharpening steels with a high volume of MC carbide. It is not for users sharpening low alloy carbon steels who wish for an extremely slow wearing stone. Having a flattening solution for this stone is mandatory. #60 silicon carbide with a flat piece of glass is a good method.

This is a porous stone, and saturating the stone with water before use is suggested. The manufacturer also recommends against using oil. As for speed, it is capable of erasing #120 diamond plate scratches within one minute. Light pressure is sufficient for maximal cutting speed, pushing hard is not ideal.
